Una “Hello” Song

 Una “Hello” Song

A fun Pre-School to 3rd grade greeting echo song where you can incorporate all your students’ names!

EXAMPLE:

This is an adapted version of “Twist and Shout” by The Beatles.

Each line is replaced by “Hello ____________” and everyone echoes.

Play this track to try it with your class!  There is space to sing up to 30 names.

Recommended:
    •    Make sure you know how to pronounce everyone’s names! If needed, use a seating chart and make a go-around to take note of any special pronunciations.
    •    include everyone in the class and finish with “Hello everyone”

Play an instrument? Here are the chords!

Literature connection: Alma and How She Got Her Name

Share this book with the class to inspire a conversation about our names and their origin. There is a version in Spanish available too!

For 2nd-4th grade, this can turn into a research assignment that can help reinforce students’ identity and cultural pride.

Did you try it with your class?  Let us know how it went!
